Breaking-in

Have you ever wanted to break in your own horse? Well, now you can, on your horse or ours. This course is an intensive two-week course which can be used to re-educate problem horses as well as break in wild horses. Andrew will assist you in every stage of the breaking-in process resulting in a calm and safe horse that you can ride away on.

In the first week we concentrate on teaching you and your horse the six basic groundwork skills and cover bareback riding. In week two you’ll be riding in the saddle, and, depending on your progress, learning how to make your horse soft and responsive through steering exercises and safety stops. By the last day we aim to ride to the beach followed by an end of course lunch. Each day begins at 10am and finishes at around 3pm, with a break for lunch.

"It was an amazing opportunity, I loved every minute of it".

"Very happy, learnt a lot but was challenged. Would happily redo with other horses."

"A really great experience. Lots of fun and a great environment to learn and get results from the horses."

"You should have more courses!"

Price:  $1500. This includes hay and grazing for your horse plus 12 days tuition. Accommodation can be arranged. Groups are limited to eight people to give you the best learning experience.

These people took part in our last course in January 2007.
