22nd November, 2007 - Sally
Thanks for the photo from the Oamaru clinic back in September. Also to you and Andrew for running the clinic here - I really enjoyed it and the knowledge and experience gained from it.
Sally (my still sometimes stubborn pinto mare) and I have been working well together in the past month. Have had two afternoons at the local pony club grounds where she behaved really well. We've been jumping over cavelletti at both heights which we both love. I think she may be part kangaroo!!
Just lately we have FINALLY been cantering. The more Sal behaves, the more I trust her and do more with her which she is obviously enjoying. So t hanks again for the opportunity you and Andrew gave us by running your clinic down this way.
20th July 2007 - Sequin
Just wanted to say thankyou for our visit yesterday. Both Belinda and I thouroughy enjoyed seeing Sequin as well as your wonderful relaxed, yet very professional setup. I know that Sequin is in very good hands! I was amazed and delighted at the change in her. Always knew she was wonderful but with the greatest possible start you have given her I feel that I have a future gem in the making!
Having visited we both feel inspired and renewed in our love of our equine friends!
Thanks again, Caroline,
7th March 2004 - Versace
I am writing with reference to Andrew and wish to offer a testimonial. I have known Andrew for two years and in that time he has helped me with my horses on a professional basis. Andrew came recommended to me initially as a solution for a horse, Versace, which I had a great deal of trouble with on the ground. Versace was a big horse and his behaviour at times while leading could have proved dangerous to me, even though he was purely being high-spirited. His attitude was bad enough that I could not compete Versace at shows in the Led Sections due to him being uncontrollable. His habits include rearing, kicking out at other horses, pulling away from me, and biting me. These problems were well engrained into the horse and were more than I could physically cope with. Versace had been extremely successful in the Ridden Sections and had obtained many national titles including the Horse of the Year Show, Nationals, and Royal Shows. It was because of his ridden success that I wanted to pursue the same results in the Led Section.
Andrew worked with Versace over the winter months and taught the horse manners and respect for his handler at all times. Versace reacted well to the training and became a safer and more predictable horse to be around. This type of work also improved his attitude while being ridden. Andrew took Versace to the New Zealand Royal Show where they won Reserve Champions in the Led Sections, which was a great start for a horse who I could rarely even get into the ring previously. Versace improved more at every show we attended and we had some great successes with me in the Led Sections. He was Champion on most occasions and he became a pleasure to show. His behaviour at shows while being ridden also improved, and other people who knew the horse commented on this. He was a calmer and more workable horse in all aspects due to Andrew’s time and commitment to him.

24th May 2004 - Ulrick
Dear Andrew
I feel I need to tell you once more how much sense your horse training made to me. It is a good rule for any relationship between creatures to try to create trust and make friends first with the ones you are trying to lead. I never realized before that interactions between a man and a horse can be applied to people.
Thank you once more for your efforts Ulrick Schwanecke South Africa
9th December 2005 – Sid
I recently had the privilege of working with Andrew at his property in Te Horo. My first impression when I visited was that all the horses there were relaxed, happy and the environment was very well equipped and maintained. It was clearly evident that the horses’ well-being was paramount. Andrew’s handling of my 6 year old mare was impeccable and I felt totally relaxed at leaving her there in his care. Andrew worked steadily through the natural horsemanship processes with my girl and to watch her grow in confidence and ability was so satisfying. She’s a well rounded, confident horse now and is on the right path to being the best she can be. Thank you Andrew !

10th January 2006 - Bronson
Thanks for all the love and attention that was showered on Bronson since he went to live with you and Andrew and the care you took in placing him again. Bronson sure is a special horse. One of my most vivid memories of mixed emotions was sitting on the front steps one day while Bronson was standing beside my car. I was telling him what a lovely boy he was despite being a bit of a mischief. Later, I went to get in the car and found he had pulled all the rubber moulding from around the door and it was lying in a heap on the ground. His previous attacks had been limited to wiper blades.

1st May 2006 - Blackie
I first met Andrew Froggatt of Talkinghorses in 1999. Having purchased a few Kaimanawa horses at the 1997 auction I wished some training be given to my little colt which was to become my stallion for the herd I wished to develop.
I was recommended Andrew as being a very good natural horseman. Andrew gave Little One some three lessons with incredible results. It is now 2006 and in the past few years Little One has fathered foals but has remained a very placid, caring and intelligent horse. Andrew has the knack of reaching the horses intelligence and allowing the horse to build on itself - he extends the horses thinking power.
I again called upon Andrew this year as one of my original mares Blackie had developed an ingrown hoof problem. After two lessons I would call to Blackie that Andrew is coming to see her - no matter where she was on the paddocks she would go running straight to the gate to wait for Andrew - love at first sight.....Andrew worked with Blackie to enable Richard the farrier to attend her hoofs with excellent results.
Since first calling on Andrew's services some seven years ago he has worked very hard in developing his sikills as a natural horse trainer. Andrew now has his own business Talkinghorses in Te Horo. From what I have seen from Andrew's abilities I would not hesitate to recommend his services to owners of horses with behavioural problems for whatever reason. He has built on his natural gift and rapport with horses to become an expert in the field of Natural Horsemanship. He is also well placed and prepared to pass his knowledge on to horse owners who would like a better understanding with their horse or those who would like to train their horse naturally.
As for me, well, I have attained my goal of a little herd of purebred Kaimanawa Wild Horses and Andrew is the only person I would entrust any of my horses to if training needed to be given.
